Camp Chinqueka is set up for conference
operations in the late Spring and early Fall. Obviously, there would be
no availability for booking dates from mid June until the end of August because
of the camp operation.
Our facilities are great places for
corporate retreats, education or sport retreats (football camp & band
camp), church retreats for young people or adults, weddings, family or
school reunions, and whatever other gathering that needs a large place
with meals and lodging included.
Our minimum number for rental is 35
persons, with a maximum around 180 to 200 persons. If there are day
people that would not be needing overnight accommodations, the camp
facility can feed up to 350 persons (such as a wedding or day retreat).
Our usual fees start around $50.00 per person/per day for use of the camp
facilities and cabin accommodations, with our basic menu. Menu changes
and additional staff required to run some of the activities will
increase the cost per person. There are no linens or blankets included
with this fee, but we can provide basic linens at an extra cost. Most
people can bring their own, or use sleeping bags in our dorm style
cabins (with facilities) for the few short nights. Our facilities
include (in addition to the three excellent daily meals and lodging) use
of our conference building with four meeting rooms (approx. 900 sq.ft.
each and accommodating 50 - 75 people each for meetings); large sport
field for football, marching practice, or field sports; indoor sport
facility; great waterfront area with swimming, boating and canoeing;
local hiking and mountain biking trails; river tent camping sites
available; and a variety of campus areas open to the groups - tennis,
volleyball, video lounge, staff area with separate phone line and use of
computer or copy machine. Our Lodge has a comfortable living room
with a fireplace for relaxation with several couches and chairs, or the
cool shaded wraparound porch overlooking the lake for a lazy place for
relaxing and reading. There is no heat in any of the sleeping cabins,
but there are a number of buildings with fireplaces for warming on a
cool morning or evening. The dining hall is a large area with a stone
fireplace and also has an
elevated stage for productions or meetings.
