Waterskiing
Easily one of camp's most popular activities. Shared with our brother camp, Camp Awosting, the waterskiing program
is offered weekdays on beautiful Bantam Lake, just 7 miles away. Campers receive instruction in all skill levels of
waterskiing, including beginning skiing, trick skiing, slalom or barefoot. In addition, campers can try their skills
at kneeboarding and wakeboarding.

Swimming
Besides daily free swims, campers receive swim instruction from American Red Cross certified counselors. The goal
of the waterfront staff is to teach campers to swim better and understand water safety, while still having fun.
This philosophy is at the heart of all of our instruction programs, from beginner to Lifeguard Training.

Canoeing
Although it isn't on a white water river, canoeing at Camp Chinqueka can be a lot of fun. Campers receive instruction
in American Red Cross certified programs and may receive their Fundamentals of Canoeing certification if they pass their
test at the end of the course. Campers also use the many boating facilities for afternoon journeys on the lake. Day and
overnight canoe trips are also offered throughout the summer.

Watertrampoline
Easily one of the most popular places at camp. Often referred to as "the blob", campers can bounce on the trampoline
or launch into the air. As with any waterfront activity, safety is always a concern, so life vests are required for
all campers.

Sailing
The winds of the Litchfield hills give campers many opportunities to practice their skills as skipper of one of our
many sailboats. Our boats include Sunfish and Daysailor. Instruction is offered for the American Red Cross certified
Basic Sailing course. Additionally, regattas with the boys camp, Camp Awosting, are often scheduled throughout
the summer.

Boating
Chinqueka campers receive instruction in American Red Cross certified programs and may receive their Basic Rowing
certification if they pass their test at the end of the course. Campers also use the many boating facilities for
afternoon journeys on the lake.

River Tubing
Campers have the opportunity to take an afternoon trip for an adventure in white water river tubing down the Farmington
River. The campers are supervised by waterfront staff at all times. Our staff chooses a route which will allow campers
to have fun, without compromising their safety. Are you tough enough to brave the rapids...? Trips are offered weekly
and a minimum swimming level is enforced for camper safety.
